The 1st Generation – In the early 1950’s, Harold Wallace moved on from Tasman Empire Airways Ltd (TEAL Airways, now Air New Zealand) and with expertise gained from 20 years in aircraft maintenance, commenced business as Wallace Reconditioners, including remetalling bearings.

The 2nd Generation – In 1974 Phill Wallace, son of Harold decided to specialise and commenced Alloy Bearings in a small building in Wellsford. After several relocations to accommodate growth, the present site of over 6,000m² with facilities of 2000m² accommodates the dedicated Alloy Bearings team.
